Squishy Quality Inspection Checklist: What to Test Before You Accept a Batch — squishy wholesale guide

Rebound time

Squeeze flat, release, time to full shape. Compare against the approved sample; a batch that rebounds noticeably faster used lighter foam.

Seam and skin

Run a fingernail along the seam. Any ridge or lift is a return risk.

Print and colour

Compare against the approved sample under daylight. Airbrush shading should match position and intensity.

Odour

A strong chemical smell means insufficient curing. Reject the batch, not the piece.

Fill

For gel pieces, confirm no water beads; for foam, confirm closed-cell by weight against the sample.

Small parts

Pull test on stems, ears and tails per ASTM F963-23. Ask for the lab report, then spot-check yourself.

Packaging

Header card print, barcode scan, age grading, tracking label and choking warning. A missing warning fails customs, not just retail.

Carton

Drop test, count, dimensions and CBM against the packing list.

Documents

CPC citing the correct rules and report numbers; test reports dated within 12 months.
