Why mystery boxes outsell singles
A blind box turns one purchase into a collection. A buyer who opens a common piece buys again for the rare one. Repeat buying for the rare piece is why the same mould sells three to four times more units inside a series than as a single.
Building the rarity tiers
A twelve-piece series typically runs eight common, three rare and one ultra-rare. Rarity is created by finish, not by new tooling: the same dumpling mould yields a solid colour, a glitter version, a flocked version and a glow version.

Packaging levels
Inner blind bag, printed outer box, and a display case of twelve or fourteen for the retail counter. The display case is what gets the programme onto a shelf, so specify it early.
Pricing logic
Mystery formats support a higher shelf price than singles of the same mould, because the buyer is paying for the chance not the object. Quote the tier, not the piece.
Compliance note for dumpling shapes
After the September 2026 recalls, any dumpling programme sold into the United States needs a written no-water-bead statement and an expansion test under 16 CFR 1250.4. Ask for both before you commit to a series.
